Classical and Folk Guitar Tuition

Lessons are held in our studio in Bakewell which is situated in the beautiful Peak District area of Derbyshire.
All ages and levels of ability are catered for, from absolute beginners to advanced players.
The Classical Guitar Course covers learning to read music, posture, sight-reading, composing, ensemble playing and the interpretation of music from the 16th century, through the Baroque, Classical and Romantic eras up to the present day.
Students wishing to specialise in a particular style or period can be accommodated.
Guitar examinations from the Initial grades up to Diploma standard can be taken at the student's request using either Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, the London College of Music or Trinity/Guildhall.
The Folk Guitar Course consists of going through lots of different songs, learning all the common chords (and lots of 'uncommon' ones), various strumming techniques and rhythmic patterns, finger-picking styles, key changes, making your own arrangements, etc.
Lessons are available weekly or fortnightly and enrolment is at the beginning of each of the three terms per year.
Enquiries are welcome from any students who do not live within easy access of the area and wish to attend on a consultative bases.
