PAINTING SHOULD BE FUN - Judy Dunlop and Steve Marsh
Judy Dunlop and Steve Marsh's long-awaited new CD contains 14 unique arrangements of contemporary and traditional folk songs and one guitar instrumental.
On several of the tracks they are joined by other guest musicians including Gordon Giltrap on baritone guitar, Ashley Hutchings on bass guitar, Ruth Angell on violin and viola and Nip Heely on percussion.
For the official launch of the album, Judy and Steve shared a concert in Chesterfield with Gordon Giltrap and Ruth Angell.
"This is a disc whose all-round excellence makes it difficult to critically appraise beyond the inevitable superlatives ... This disc, being a salutary reminder both of just how (consistently) abundantly fine a singer Judy is and how tremendously skilled a musician Steve is, can thus very probably be considered beyond criticism - which in itself is not an easy judgement for a reviewer to arrive at." .....
